Laura has created 4 P's to help her remember how to pray for her child's future spouse and for her child.
1. Pray for purity -
...theirs and their future mates!
2. Pray for their parents -
...to stay married, model a biblically healthy marriage, to discipline them and teach them about the Lord...etc.
3. Pray for their protection -
...from abuse and harm of any kind, mental, physical or sexual, from anyone that would want to take advantage of them at a vulnerable time in their life, from accidents and from disease and sickness.
4. Passion -
...that your child's mate will have a strong passion:
FIRST for the Lord from the moment they come to know him and all the days of their life...
and SECOND for your child: that they would only have passion for your child alone all the days of their marriage...

1. SALVATION -
Pray that they will know Christ as Savior early in life. Psalm 63:1
2. HATRED FOR SIN -
Pray that they will have a hatred for evil and sin and be aware of it. Psalm 97:10
3. GET CAUGHT -
Pray they will be caught when guilty and understand that a consequence must be served. Psalm 119:71
4. PROTECTION -
Pray they will be protected from the evil one in each area of their lives: spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical. John 17:15
5. RESPECT AUTHORITY -
Pray that they will respect those in authority over them. Romans 13:1
6. SPOUSE -
Pray that they will be kept from the wrong mate and saved for the right one. II Corinthians 6:14-17
7. MARRIAGE -
Pray that they and their mate will be kept pure until marriage and throughout marriage. I Corinthians 6:18-20
8. FRIENDS -
Pray that they will desire the right kind of friends and be protected from the wrong ones. Proverbs 1:10-11
9. DEVOTION -
Pray that they will be single-minded and single-hearted in their devotion to Christ. Romans 12:1-2
10. HEDGED IN -
Pray that they will be hedged in so they cannot find their way to wrong places or be invaded by peer pressure. Hosea 2:6
